Welcome to Our Faculty

The Faculty of Agriculture at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University was established in 2005 with a vision to nurture the next generation of agricultural leaders. Since our inception, we have grown into one of the leading agricultural faculties in Nigeria, offering comprehensive programs across multiple disciplines.

Our faculty is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, research farms, and modern classrooms that provide an enabling environment for teaching and learning. We have a team of highly qualified academic staff who are experts in their respective fields, committed to mentoring students and conducting cutting-edge research.

A timeline of our growth and achievements

2005

Faculty Establishment

The Faculty of Agriculture was established with three pioneer departments: Crop Science, Animal Science, and Agricultural Economics.

2010

First Graduating Set

The first batch of graduates completed their programs, marking a milestone in our faculty's history.

2015

Research Expansion

Established three new research centers: Center for Irrigation Management, Institute of Pest Control, and Food Science Laboratory.

2020

Program Expansion

Added new departments including Fisheries & Aquaculture, Soil Science, and Food Science & Technology.

2024

Accreditation & Recognition

All programs received full accreditation from NUC, and the faculty was recognized as a Center of Excellence in Agricultural Education.
